Micro Enterprise

Providing micro- loans, training, and skills that are passed onto others Many people in Eastern and Central Africa are poor because they lack knowledge and ideas. One of those steps is a micro-loan program based in Chihonga, DR Congo. The program provides loans such as goats, cows, and rabbits to farmers to improve their homes and small farms, empowering them to generate greater income and provide stability for their families. Hundreds of farmers are benefiting from these programs as they gain new skills and livestock and then pass the offspring on to others in the village. We consider our efforts a success when a needy person reaches higher levels of self- sustainability, spirit- led generosity and connection with a local church.

“Poverty is a forgotten story – I now have the techniques to fight it.” Thomas Kirwa, ELI program participant
