Personal Involvement

Prayer Support Team: Our battles are often won because of prayer. We are building a team of individuals who will covenant with ELI to pray regularly for the ministry needs. A bi-monthly update is sent out by e-mail that details current prayer needs. If you would like to commit to partner with us through prayer, please send an e-mail to info@empoweringlives.org.

Short-Term Mission Opportunities: Empowering Lives International desires to motivate Christians worldwide to invest their lives and gifts in the mission of empowerment.  One of the ways we do this is through our short-term opportunities.  We rejoice to see Christians take this step of faith and follow God’s leading to serve and learn from the “least of these” on the other side of the world.  We currently have two opportunities available: teams and interns.  Please read through the information on the links below to learn about each option.  If you are interested in applying to bring a team or come as an intern, please completely fill out the appropriate forms and e-mail them to teams@empoweringlives.org.

Help Change the World for One Family: Partner with us to change the life for one family by hosting a unique display of hand made paper products! Through this tangible project you and your church can directly help to empower the lives of needy people in Africa. We will send you a self-contained, counter-top display box filled with paper products which have been hand made in the villages where se serve. We will pay for the shipping so there is no cost to you or your church. We include all the information you need to sell these products in your church, office or classroom. The display also comes with a video and several brochures explaining the project and how your participation helps to empower the poor. If you are interested in hosting a display box, please e-mail us at info@empoweringlives.org. Through this simple project you can Help Change the World for One Family.

Hope Walks :Hope Walks is an educational and fund raising walk that provides an opportunity for children, along with family members and friends to make a difference in the lives of orphans and vulnerable children by providing health-care, education, shelter and food.

Hope Walks began with a passion to raise awareness of the growing number of children and orphans affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Participants in the walk are provided with education about the global orphan crisis and given an opportunity to raise funds through a walk with other children, families, students and friends. It is a time to give hope to orphans and vulnerable children who like children anywhere in the world want to be embraced with love and to have a secure future. Come walk with us!

Financial Support

As a non-profit organization we depend on donations and gifts from friends, family, churches, organizations, and businesses to further our efforts in East Africa. Every donation counts in our efforts to assist the poor and impoverished. Please consider the following areas of ministry needs. A tax-deductible receipt will be issued for your donation.

General Fund: We depend a great deal on the general investments we receive. General donations enable us to fund various training's and programs. These funds are the backbone of our ability to administrate and process the communication with our ministry partners as well as administrate the overall organization. General donations give ELI the flexibility to impact lives in ways that are not always foreseen and predictable.

Six-Month Student Training: Every year, the Kipkaren River Training Center hosts an exciting six-month training and development program. Twenty people from various areas of East Africa are carefully interviewed and selected to invest six months of their lives to learn, through hands-on training, each of the empowering skills that ELI offers. The students are mentored, trained, and discipled by some of the top teachers in the area. The diverse fields of training are interwoven with Bible teachings and the concepts of evangelism. Overall, this program offers a complete life-changing empowerment, not only in each student’s life, but also in the village to which they will return upon completion. Each life has the potential to bring spiritual and economic impact to an entire village and beyond.

Kenya National Staff: Our national staff is the key to our ministry success. There are currently over 30 nationals who work with ELI Kenya in the areas of office support, AA ministry, agriculture and farming, children’s ministry, health and medicine, evangelism, education, communication, and leadership. By supporting our national staff you are investing in a multitude of people as these leaders minister to their communities and beyond.

Kenya Anti-Alcohol Program: Currently there are over 900 Kenyans in 17 villages, involved in this recovery program. The numbers are growing and people from new villages are inquiring daily about this life-changing program. Alcoholism is a huge problem in East Africa, and this program is one of the tools God is using to battle the destruction alcohol is causing. We are seeing great transformation of lives daily as people are healed and restored through the program. Your financial investment supports these people as they are coming out of alcohol abuse and trained in new alternatives to provide for their families.

Tanzania Ministry: We recently received our Non-Governmental Organization license in Tanzania which opens up many new doors of ministry opportunities. As we prepare to purchase land and establish a Skills for Life Training Center in Tanzania, funds are needed for all areas of the various development and ministry stages.

Congo Ministry: Currently ELI is funding two major projects within the Bukavu Slums of the Congo. We have established a primary school and a soap project among the Keredi women. Funds are needed to support these projects and other new empowerment opportunities in the Congo.
