Dan Perrine
A short-term missions trip to Kenya in June of 2001 challenged me to use my abilities in a way I never expected. I had recently retired after 32 years in education, with 25 of those in administration. My first wife, Kathi, had lost her 18 month fight with leukemia that April and my son was about to leave for college. My question to God was, “What now?” He answered through Don Rogers, Director of ELI, as we sat in a gazebo watching a Kenyan sunset. Don requested that I come work at the ELI headquarters in California, a long way from my home in New York.
Now working as a consultant for staff and organizational development, I am able to assist our growing ministry in staff support and operational planning. In 2004, God provided me with Myra, a wonderful partner with whom to enjoy life and serve our Lord. We are firmly committed to a holistic missions philosophy of working alongside people to help them improve their lives, both spiritually and physically, so that they can know, worship, and serve God without hindrance.
When time permits, there is nothing like a round of golf or time spent fly fishing on a wilderness river to bring balance to a very busy life.
