#51 – Ezekiel Yago

It’s difficult at times when I go to sleep to know that there I have no income to provide for my family. My name is Ezekiel, and I am married with a one-year-old baby. This used to be a common struggle for me before the Paper Project was introduced by Empowering Lives International in 2000. Now, I am employed to make envelopes, and this has significantly impacted my life. I am using the income that I receive to save up for my child’s education and to buy the necessary items that we need to make it from day-to-day. Thank you for assisting my family as we strive to further our lives.

#54 – Samuel Koech

I once was lost, but God has found me and rescued my life from the pits of despair. My name is Samuel Koech, I am married and a father of seven children. My life is great now, but it hasn’t always been like this. I used to drink profusely, and it got so bad that a rift developed between my family and me. It was when I was at the end of my rope that Alcoholics Anonymous was introduced in the village where I live, Ngenyilel. I began to attend the meetings, soon found the freedom that comes through Christ and invited Jesus into my heart. Since then, it’s been a joy-filled adventure. After leaving alcohol and being reconciled to my family, the Paper Project was introduced and I began to make envelopes. Since this time, I have been able to provide for my family, help lead AA meetings and pay for my children’s school fees. It’s incredible to see God’s hand so clearly in my family’s life. Thank you very much for your prayers and assistance.

#55 – Selly Kogei

My name is Selly Kogei, I am 39-years-old, married and a mother of five children. Jesus is my personal Savior, and I praise Him for the good things He has done. I live in the rural village of Chebaiywa, Kenya, in a small mud hut with a grass-thatched roof. One year ago my family was struggling with how to pay for the school fees, but God has answered my prayers in providing me an income to help pay for our children’s education. I am making envelopes for the Paper Project through ELI and have benefited greatly from it. We are able to pay for our children’s school fees now, AND we are using the rest of our income to pay for basic household necessities such as soap, sugar and flour. Please pray for us as we continue to break the chains of poverty, and you are helping!

In Kenya when you pass the age of 60, work becomes more difficult, and you know that if you don’t continue to work there is no other way to help pay the necessary expenses that we need to live! My name is Mama Ronoh, I am 65-years-old, a widow left with seven children, and I am saved. In 2000 when the Paper Project began, I joined with an eager heart. Since then, I have been able to pay for my children’s school fees and am able to support my children with food, shelter and clothing. God is so faithful, and we trust everything into His hands.

#58 – Selly Koech

Last year you would have seen me in my house brewing alcohol for the community, but this year you will see a smile on my face making envelopes for the Paper Project. My name is Selly Koech, I am 39-years-old, married and a mother of five children. One year ago I began attending the Alcoholics Anonymous program in the village of Plateau, and that is where my life changed. I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior, and he has continued to help me in my life. Because of the Paper Project, my children have come out of the problems that I caused them through brewing and drinking alcohol, and I am able to provide for their basic needs now. Thank you for your assistance in helping my family’s dreams come true.
