One year ago, my family and I were not living in the hope that we now have through the Paper Project. My name is Viola, I am 23-years-old, am married and have two children. We live in a small mud hut in the rural village of Chebaiywa, and have just come through a difficult family time as my father-in-law passed away one month ago from cancer, thus our finances were helping with the medical expenses. Through the Paper Project, we were able to help with the medical expenses, and we were able to continue providing for our family. Thank you for helping us during that time, and for partnering with us in this journey. Mungu awa bariki (God bless you)!
God continues to help me through the difficult times. My name is Leah Cherop, I live in a small hut in the rural village of Chebaiywa without electricity or running water. I began making envelopes one year ago for the Paper Project, and I am looking to the future now like I have never been able to do before. I am hoping to use the income that I receive from making envelopes to use to buy sheep in hopes of starting a livestock business with my husband. Thank you very much for your help, and I pray that God will continue to help me in this work.
Everyday, I brewed alcohol…and I was good! However, I came to realize that I needed to leave that life and find the Truth found only in Jesus. My name is Rose, I am 30-years-old, married and a mother of five children. Since leaving alcohol, I have begun to make envelopes for the Paper Project. This has been great, because my family’s problems have decreased, and I am able to provide the basic necessities for them. I am encouraged by this project, and I pray that it continues well.
My name is Hellen Misoi, and I am saved. I live in the remote village of Plateau, which overlooks the valleys below, in a small mud home with a grass-thatched roof with my husband and seven children. Last year you could daily find me inside of my house drinking the local alcohol, but after joining the Alcoholics Anonymous group, I quit the life of alcohol and am now living for Christ. Another way my life has improved is because of the Paper Project. I began making envelopes last year, and now I am able to provide the basic needs for my family. Thank you for your assistance to me and my family.
As the years go by, I continue to support my family, but it is getting more difficult. My name is Petro, I am 69-years-old, married and have 12 children! My children range in age from 11-years-old to 36-years-old. I live in the remove village of Chebaiywa in a mud home with a grass-thatched roof without electricity or running water. In 2000, I joined the Paper Project with ELI, and my life has significantly changed. I am now able to continue paying for the school fees for the school fees for my children and, also, I am now able to buy new clothes for them. Thank you for your assistance with my family, and my one request is that you continue to help me in this work.
My prayer to the Lord every day is that He will continue to give me strength each day to do His work and to help my family prosper. My name is Anna, I am 28-years-old, married and have three children, ages two, nine and 13. We live in the rural village of Chebaiywa in a small mud home with a grass-thatched roof and attend the local church. His work that I am referring to is making envelopes for the Paper Project, since this is my only source of income. I am now able to pay for my children’s school fees, to buy necessary household items and to buy seeds for our shamba (garden). Thank you very much for helping my family to continue pursuing our dreams.
My life is slowly improving from where it used to be. My name is Salina Tuwei, I am 49-years-old, married and the mother of six children from the age of six to 28. I used to daily drink and brew alcohol, and this caused many problems for me and my family. However, after joining the Alcoholics Anonymous program, I have fully recovered and am now providing my family with an income through the Paper Project. Thank you for your help, and please continue to pray for my family as we are now saved and turning to the Lord when problems arise.
It is my prayer that I will continue to be transformed from the former life I lived to a new life found in Jesus Christ. My name is Pauline Sang, and I am saved. I am married and a mother of eight children from the ages of six to 22. Last year I could be found brewing and drinking alcohol, but now I am making envelopes for the Paper Project. Because of the income that I am earning from this project, my children’s school fees are paid and I am buying and selling vegetables to the community. Praise the Lord for the work that He is doing.
When you get to my age, work becomes difficult and arduous at times. My name is Esther Tarus, and I am 77-years-old. I am married and have seven children. My husband is not able to work in the farm anymore, and, therefore, we do not have any income. Because I used to brew alcohol, I joined the Alcoholics Anonymous group in the community of Plateau last year, and now I am saved and my life is moving forward. I began making envelopes for the Paper Project, and now I am able to buy basic necessities for my family such as clothes, soap and sugar. Thank you for your help in the improvement of my life.
At my age, it is sometimes difficult to find new work as I have found myself getting into many habits. However, through changing my life and giving it to Christ, I have stopped brewing and drinking alcohol and now work diligently to make envelopes. My name is Bot Seurei, and I am 63-years-old. I am married and the mother of six children the oldest who is 50-years-old. Making envelopes has improved my life as I have something to work on each day, and the income that I receive allows me to buy food and to pay the school fees for my grandchildren. My family continues to depend on me, and I continue to depend on the Lord for the strength for each day.
