Silas Kiprono
Silas Kiprono’s childhood was forged in the fire . . . literally. Raised in a brewing den where alcohol fueled violence and despair, Silas witnessed his home burned down three times, slept under the stars, and endured hunger and trauma that even claimed the life of a relative. “My childhood was marked by violence, fear, and hunger,” he shares. “These memories are painful to recall.”
But even in the darkest moments, God was at work! A Sunday school teacher planted a seed of hope, and years later, Silas saw that hope begin to grow as he joined ELI training. That decision sparked a transformation, not just in him, but in his entire family. His father left brewing behind, his mother embraced a new life of faith, and healing began at home.
Then, Silas stepped into leadership, helping his family’s small kiosk while also serving a growing fellowship that expanded from just a couple families to dozens. With support from a Women of Change leader, Peris, he was able to attend Bible school, and his calling into ministry became clear.
Today, Pastor Silas serves with a heart overflowing with gratitude. “From a childhood of chaos to a life of purpose, my journey is a powerful testimony of God’s grace, healing, and the ripple effect of transformation. What began as pain and brokenness has turned into a story of God’s grace and restoration.”
His story reflects the heart of ELI’s mission: lives and families being restored through discipleship, empowerment, and lasting community impact. Through God’s guidance and the faithful support of partners like you, stories like Silas’ continue to multiply, raising up leaders and strengthening communities for generations to come.
