When he was just a few years old, Calvin’s world was turned upside down when he tragically lost his parents, leaving him in the care of his uncle. Though his uncle did what he could to provide for Calvin, life was incredibly difficult. Calvin lacked the essentials every child deserves: consistent meals, proper clothing, a sense of safety, and the hope of a brighter future.

But everything changed when Empowering Lives International stepped in to provide not just support, but a new beginning! In 2024, Calvin was welcomed into our Kipkaren Children’s Home with open arms. From that moment on, his life took a dramatic turn. Within the safe and nurturing walls of Kipkaren, Calvin found stability. 

Surrounded by loving house parents and siblings who filled each day with laughter and encouragement, Calvin began to thrive. Not only did he find a sense of belonging, but he also excelled in school. For the first time ever, Calvin stepped into a classroom and he absolutely loved it! From day one, he was eager to learn and embraced every lesson with enthusiasm. Beyond academics, Calvin’s heart found direction and hope. Sundays quickly became his favorite day of the week as he loved dressing up and joining his friends for worship, singing songs of joy, and growing in a faith that gave him strength, confidence, and hope.

Calvin has overcome so much in such a short time, and his transformation is a beautiful reminder of what your prayers and support make possible. Thank you for playing a part in changing his life—and the lives of so many other precious children who are a part of our forever ELI family!
