Felix Kipkoech
Meet Felix Kipkoech. Felix was born in 2009 by a single mother with 4 older children. Life was a constant battle for Felix, wondering day in and day out if he would have food to eat, a safe place to grow up, or any chance of a successful future. His family was barely surviving.
After years of working and struggling to provide, Felix’s mother tragically passed away in 2017, leaving him and his 4 siblings orphaned. Felix’s oldest brother, Kenneth, suddenly found himself responsible not only for his own wife and children, but his siblings as well. The pressure to provide weighed heavily, and no matter how hard he worked, Kenneth knew that he would not be able to give Felix the abundant life he deserved. So, after hearing about ELI through a neighbor, Kenneth decided to reach out for help.
Felix was quickly welcomed into our Ilula Children’s Home with open arms! He now had parents who loved him, siblings he could talk to and play with, a comfortable home, three meals a day, and access to a proper education. With this stable and safe environment surrounding him, the shy and sorrowful 8-year-old boy who first walked through the gates of the Children’s Home transformed into a bold and courageous young man.
Now 14 years old, Felix has worked hard to make his dreams a reality—something he never thought possible! He is head boy at Gethsemane Christian Academy, a role model to his siblings, a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, and a hopeful future engineer! Through his God-given gift of leadership, Felix has fearlessly shared his testimony with countless others, reminding them that God always has a plan for our lives, just as He had a plan for Felix.
We are so proud of how far Felix has come, and we can’t wait to see what God has in store for him. His future is bright, and we are committed to supporting him every step of the way!
